Yes, it's possible.
Strategic planning is probably the most important task of senior management and boards. Yet, too often, the experience is frustrating and unproductive. Without a skilled facilitator, meetings can easily waste valuable time and not create an action agenda.
Sertich Consulting help groups clarify meetings so they are meaningful. With multiple interests and opinions in a room, it is important to encourage input from all parties, keep the focus on relevant issues, address all agenda items, move conversation toward a consensus and create a plan to implement ideas.
Group facilitation includes:
- An initial brainstorming session to establish the agenda
- Meeting preparation, including inviting participants and facility and logistics planning
- Meeting facilitation
- A synthesized report of key points, resolutions following the discussion and next steps
Recent examples of our work:
- Facilitated the Regional Economic Development Group sponsored by the McKnight and Blandin foundations. Sertich Consulting manages meetings and summarizes actions that lead to action agendas.
- Facilitated a Leadership Council of the Applied Learning Institute consisting of 16 superintendents and five provosts. Their planning resulted in implementing a K-14 regional model of collaboration for the state of Minnesota.
- Performed executive planning session for the Minnesota Community Capital Fund board that resulted in a work plan.
